Emergency Plumber Henderson

Henderson is where the Opanuku and Oratia streams join to become Henderson Creek, and that geography drives a lot of the plumbing work here. In the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods of January 2023, water rose through streets and homes in the Henderson area, and gully traps across the suburb overflowed as the stormwater and wastewater networks filled. Houses on the lower streets near the Twin Streams paths are still the first to have trouble in a heavy downpour. The housing is mostly 1960s to 1980s, so the everyday faults are copper pinhole leaks, tired cylinders and, in homes from the 1980s and 1990s, polybutylene grey pipe fittings letting go. Around the town centre and the station, older sections have been cut up for townhouses that often share a single drain, so one blockage can stop three or four households at once. Further up the Henderson Valley and towards Oratia, sections are larger and steeper, and a long supply pipe from the toby can leak unnoticed for weeks. Lincoln Road, Great North Road and SH16 make the whole suburb straightforward to reach.

Henderson is the commercial heart of West Auckland, built around WestCity, the train station and the old Corban winery estate. The suburb spreads from the flats along Henderson Creek up into the Henderson Valley, where orchards and vineyards once ran. It is a busy, mixed place with family homes, new townhouses and light industry, and it sits right beside SH16 and Lincoln Road, which makes it easy to reach from most of the west.
