Emergency Plumber Māngere

Māngere is changing fast. Many streets were built as state housing from the 1950s to the 1970s, and a lot of those homes still have galvanised water pipe, an older low-pressure cylinder and earthenware drains. At the same time, large-scale redevelopment has replaced some of the old houses with terraces and townhouses, so the next street along may have PEX pipe, mains-pressure cylinders and shared drains running under several units. The two ends of that range bring different emergencies: rusted pipe and root-blocked drains in the older homes, and failed flexi hoses and leaking fittings in the new ones. Māngere is reached along SH20, and traffic around the airport and the motorway interchanges affects the arrival time you are given.

Māngere spreads along the Manukau Harbour from Māngere Bridge to the airport, with Te Pane o Mataaho / Māngere Mountain and Ambury Regional Park on its northern side. Much of the suburb was built as state housing from the 1950s, and large parts are now being redeveloped with new homes alongside the originals. It is also home to the Māngere wastewater treatment plant.
