Emergency Plumber Mount Albert

Mount Albert combines two of the main isthmus housing types, and the plumbing reflects both. On the older streets near the station and New North Road, bungalows and villas have galvanised pipes, earthenware drains and in some cases header tanks feeding low-pressure cylinders. Around Ōwairaka, the big post-war state housing area has weatherboard houses on piles with pipework that is now seventy or more years old. Many of those sections have been subdivided, with townhouses at the back connected to the original drain, so a blockage can affect several households and it is not always obvious where it starts. The ground around the cone is volcanic, so digging to reach a broken drain can mean dealing with rock, and camera inspection before any excavation saves time. Te Auaunga/Oakley Creek runs along the western side of the suburb, and properties near it can see stormwater trouble in heavy rain. New North Road, Carrington Road and the Northwestern Motorway give quick access to Mount Albert from across the city.

Mount Albert is a large, established suburb on the western isthmus around the volcanic cone of Ōwairaka. It mixes bungalows and villas with a big post-war state housing area, and has a busy town centre on New North Road beside the railway station. Te Auaunga/Oakley Creek runs along its western side, and Unitec's large campus sits on its edge. Mt Albert Grammar School is one of its best-known institutions.
